With zero experience of the two commercial platforms, concluded the following from the reviews of you raging communists:

Threads - No news. Check out my insta pics. Here's a random thing the algorithm threw.

Blue Sky - Late to the Twitter. Late to leave. This is so like old Twitter.

Mastodon - Freaks, tech geeks, nerds and raging communists.

Is that the deal?

'Here is how platforms die: first, they are good to their users; then they abuse their users to make things better for their business customers; finally, they abuse those business customers to claw back all the value for themselves. Then, they die. I call this enshittification...'

Interested to see if the new FotM commercial platforms can speedrun Doctrow's doctrine, or defy it even.

@fixatedpersonsunit @pluralistic It's ironic that Boing Boing, Corey's creation is now entering end-stage enshitification. They've started requiring Adblockers to be disabled to view their site or pay $5/mo for the privilege. It probably started when Boing Boing started using Stack Commerce, really dodgy ecommerce provider, who offered questionable merch like a "private airconditioner" or that $40 128GB SSD drive that was really two thumb drives glued together internally. "All sales final. No returns or refunds." which my credit card company laughed at. Maybe now VISA and Mastercard will stop accepting charges from them.
