I'll post some links in a bit for those who don't know, but I'm not here to convince mastodon apologists. I'm interested in joining the conversation on how (if?) #ActivityPub can be used in a way that overcomes mastodon's problems.

I wanna be clear on one point: I have fun on fedi! I can count bad times I've had here on one hand. I am on a couple of instances that do well with moderation (well enough for me, a recipient of white and male privilege living in the United States). I will not be the biggest benificiary of the work I'm talking about, but I know that bringing in more diverse voices will improve my experience here, too.
and to be honest, when I look at the steaming pile that twitter's valuation has become, I want that for bluesky's investors, too. I want that for meta. if we can find a way to deliver it to google, sign me up #ActivityPub
