Since @pluralistic is breaking a lance for RSS, I'd like to suggest a reader you may not have thought of, Thunderbird.

I like being able to apply aging and sorting rules similar to mails and read/unread tracking makes using it more efficient.

These features are especially useful for tracking #infosec vulnerability announcements and the like. In this area it really helps with the signal to noise ratio.

They're telling us that we don't own our cars, and especially don't own anything the software on those cars does. And then they blast #infosec far enough out the window we get to nuggets like:
❞Still others targeted fleet management software for emergency vehicles and could have even prevented those vehicles from starting, they believe—though they didn't have the means to safely test out that potentially dangerous trick.❝

Corporations are completely irresponsible stewards of hard- and software.

Pleased to announce the launch of Surveillance Watch, an interactive map and resource that documents the hidden connections within the opaque surveillance industry: https://www.surveillancewatch.io/

By mapping out the intricate web of surveillance companies, their subsidiaries, partners, and financial backers, we hope to expose the enablers fueling this industry's extensive rights violations, ensuring they cannot evade accountability for being complicit in this abuse.

I'm going to prove a point and you're going to help me.

If you're a member of the information security and/or cybersecurity profession, and you have clicked on a phish in the last, say, five years, share this post. If you have not, star this post.

Someone's trying to say that you can punish people out of clicking on scam links and I say that not only can you NOT prevent phishing by punishing people, but the most skilled #infosec and #cybersecurity people in the world can and do get phished as well.

The thing I hope is alarming people about today's #CrowdStrike outage is that if the company can take out that much of America's tech infrastructure by accident with a single buggy update, our adversaries can do the same on purpose with a supply-chain attack against CrowdStrike, and that one probably wouldn't be as quick to recover from. #infosec
