Let's speedrun the XMPP-alike death of ActivityPub, sure. Let's sacrifice our freedom to corporate overlords all over again, because stuff like that worked out so well in the past. Nothing bad ever happened when projects began using a fundamental technology controlled by a VC-funded, profit-driven company.
In the end only a small userbase will remain vigilant while the majority gets fucked all over again. As always.

I for one think this would be an excellent idea. Making Pixelfed available for Bluesky users, and for the rest of the fediverse to get a lot more content, would benefit everyone. If done right, it could help introduce the idea that more fediverse projects implement the AT protocol.

Create a Starter Kit with all your existing friends/fam and share the link or QR code and the invited person will be onboarded and auto follow all accounts in the kit, along with other auto settings.
The best part is Pixelfed Starter Kits are ActivityPub objects, and will be compatible with other software!
I am working on a FEP 🚀
I could make start.fedi.pub a landing page for Starter Kits, allowing users to select the client of their choice, aside from Pixelfed.
Lots of possibilities with Starter Kits, and I look forward to working with other projects to establish a shared spec, aka FEP!

From the WebUI this is a task I frequently use, mostly for external translation.

I've been working on a new @pixelfed moderation feature called Moderated Profiles!
This will allow admins to apply limits or a complete ban on specific remote profiles.
You can add notes, and each action is logged in the modlog, so admins can revert or delete easily without concern!
