We’re very proud to announce that we’ve worked with @tchambers & team to build a new membership-only group on the Fediverse!

@KamalaHarrisWin is a group dedicated to organising and discussing Harris’s 2024 campaign. With better moderation controls the people there can focus on what matters, like protecting democracy, rather than having to fight through trolls and bots.

We hope the members are enjoying it! 🥥🌴

How is it when it comes to other Fediverse software?

* a.gup.pe is known to only 100% working with Mastodon-powered instances.

* Lemmy, Kbin, Mbin instances are hit-and-miss with the rest of the Fediverse.

So far, the only ones that works consistently with any Fediverse software are the groups feature of Friendica (and Hubzilla).

In addition, there is also fedigroups.social which works with any Fediverse software.

The Newsmast Groups software works well with the rest of the Fediverse? I mean, not just Mastodon-powered servers, like Friendica and fedigroups.social ?

Our dev team has worked hard to put this together in a short space of time, combining two plug-ins from our Patchwork technology: feed creation and feed distribution.

For now, the Kamala Harris News Group is a one-off project but we’re in alpha testing to bring groups to Newsmast and Patchwork servers in the future so keep an eye out!
