I’ve been through this employment ultimatum thing more than once, and it sucks—especially when it’s rooted in controversies that you had no control over.
Having to demonstrate your vote of confidence by choosing to resign or not (on someone else’s abbreviated timetable) puts everyone in a tough position. Alignment and employment are not necessarily the same thing.
