Cory Doctorow @pluralistic putting into words maybe one of the fears I have for #RStats folk - they'll get locked in.

Easy to get in. But can you get out again. For me it's not really anything #Bluesky itself is/isn't doing...but what's gone before. People have poured their time and content for free into other platforms then been stung by policy/service changes. 1/2

To my ears I hear people really clamouring for a "Community of practice" where everyone with an interest is in the same place. But that's science talking to itself There are others looking for ways of "crossing over" to the mainstream and their work being seen/understood by the general public too. It's really hard to do both of those at the same time and do them well 2/2.
