"It’s time to stop playing defense. It's time to go on the offensive. To restore competition, regulation, interop and tech worker power so that we can create the new, good internet we’ll need to fight fascism, the climate emergency, and genocide. To build a digital nervous system for a 21st century in which our children can thrive and prosper."

@pluralistic once again on point on big tech, enshittification and how hackers can seize the means of computation at ** #defcon **https://pluralistic.net/2024/08/17/hack-the-planet/#how-about-a-nice-game-of-chess

Now that #DEFCON32 is over I'm switching attention to getting content of what happened on-line as well as finishing up the big project of re-encoding all the past talks into .AV1 format. I'm just down to #DEFCON 25 and 26!

Why use AV1? It works natively in most all browsers and operating systems giving a pseudo-streaming experience, it's also not encumbered by patents so is more OSS friendly.

I'm sure I've mentioned before that I love Cory, ( @pluralistic), and his revolutionary zeal. His #DefCon speech was brilliant, and you should read it:

Excerpt: It’s time to stop playing defense. It's time to go on the offensive. To restore competition, regulation, interop and tech worker power so that we can create the new, good internet we’ll need to fight fascism, the climate emergency, and genocide.
