On Nostr you can post "Olá, Brasil" and then people zap you around $25 worth of tips ... how cool is that?
zaps payment still too complicated for new users to setup though
atproto (bluesky whtwnd etc) and activitypub (mastodon pixelfed etc) do not currently support post "tipping". Fediverse could use something like this

I can't even comprehend how many servers are protected by fail2ban, how many compromises are avoided, how many people who run hobby things all the way up to major sites that get to sleep soundly every night... because of this single project.
Sebres has emailed and said thank you to me for my post, and I'm a bit overwhelmed it went so wide and got so much attention.
They've read all the replies, and one thing they said WRT being paid stood out:
money does indeed play an important role as a motive force, my main motivation is mostly to justify the OSS-work to my wife, so I'd never have to explain myself when I sit at the PC until late at night or see my family late
